Hosting your files, calendars, contacts, and collaborative documents is expensive and locks data into proprietary silos (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox). For a school, an association, a small business, or a family, dependence on these giants means: giving up control of your data, enduring arbitrary price hikes, and losing access to your files if the service shuts down. Free alternatives like Nextcloud exist, but their installation remains intimidating: Docker, DNS, SSL certificates, backups — all technical barriers that exclude 95% of potential users. What's missing is a "turnkey" solution that a teacher, a parent, or an association treasurer can deploy in an afternoon.
