Couchsurfing locked its community behind a paywall. Open-source alternatives exist (Couchers.org, Trustroots) but suffer from the empty-network problem. Our approach: a bilateral community contract. The network will only be deployed when multiple interdependent actions reach their threshold. Example: 'I'll host in London if others host in New York.' The technical barrier is removed: with AI assistance, deploying an open-source hospitality platform is accessible to motivated citizens without expert developers.
