🌡️ Citizen Climate Observatory — A Global Network of DIY Weather Stations

Par André MF — Online / Worldwide

Climate data is unevenly distributed. Official weather stations are sparse in rural areas, developing countries, and marginalized neighborhoods. Governments and corporations control the data, often publishing it with delays or restricting access. The gap: communities most affected by climate change — urban heat islands, flood zones, wildfire corridors — often have the least data to advocate for action. A neighborhood experiencing 45°C heat waves might have no official temperature readings within 50 km.
